In honor of our new friend Denise receiving a free cut, we want to talk to you guys about getting your hair cut/trimmed regularly.
Besides the amazing feeling of being pampered for an hour and leaving the salon looking like a dime (or that awesome head massage we give during the wash), there are some serious benefits that come with getting your hair trimmed regularly! Here are our TOP 3:
1. Healthy shine and strength. Your hair will be healthier with all those dead, split ends gone. Your hair will appear shinnier and make your hair stronger (especially if you have longer hair). Regular haircuts keep your split ends from getting out of hand which can potentially keep your hair from growing. When your split ends go crazy, your hair breaks causing it to get shorter and shorter instead of lush and long.
2. Fresh Look. This one if for our shorties out there! If you love the effortless look of short hair, consider getting your hair trimmed regularly! This keeps your short hair from appearing dull and enables you to continually style with ease. Regular haircuts will make you look and feel better about your 'do.
3. When to Trim. Let's face it. There are a bajillion resources out there that tell you cutting your hair regularly causes it to grow faster. Around the Black Swan Salon, we call that BS. Regular hair cuts do not make your hair grow faster. Your hair should grow about 1/4 of an inch every 4 weeks. Regular hair cuts keep your hair from growing slower. When you don't cut your hair regularly (6-8 if you are trying to maintain long hair; 4-8 if you are trying to maintain short hair; 8-12 if you are trying to grow it out), your ends become damage and break, causing the growing process to slow down.
Be sure to talk to us about what you want for your hair. The best way to maintain healthy hair is to be in communication with your stylist!
How long has it been since your last cut? Call our salon and get those regular appointments in our books! And, of course, be sure to check out our specials to see all the great ways you can save.
See you in our chair,
