AVEDA was founded in 1978 by Horst Rechelbacher whose purpose and passion was to establish balance and harmony in the world by creating products that are beneficial for beauty professionals, their clients, and the earth. AVEDA is a company that uses the art and science of pure flower and plant essences to develop their products. There are many different hair care products for every type of hair. These products can smooth hair, eliminate frizz, enhance curl, produce natural shine, revive dry, damaged hair, etc... AVEDA is continuously creating new and better products while improving existing ones. They recently added a dry shampoo to their Shampure line and a cowash to their Be Curly line!

AVEDA believes Nature is the best beauty artist of all, and is continually working to increase the amount of naturally derived ingredients whenever possible. AVEDA strives to set an example of environmental leadership and responsibility by harvesting our products with respect for the earth. All products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, and sodium lauryl sulfate. The products are organic & are naturally derived which means more than 50% of the molecules come from plants, water, non-petroleum minerals, and other natural resources. Some of our green ingredients include: buriti oil, argan, and jojoba which infuse the hair with moisture, acacia used to help thicken and volumize, & wheat protein used to help protect the hair from heat damage, and the list goes on and on...

The Black Swan Salon is the only full service AVEDA salon in Morgantown, West Virginia.
